House Spades Rules
We play Jokers high: Big Joker, Little Joker, Deuce of Diamonds, Deuce of Spades, then A-K-Q-J-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3 of spades.
- Spades are trump. Follow the led suit if you can.
- You cannot lead spades until spades are broken, unless your hand is only spades.
- Four-player mode is partners: North/South vs East/West.
- Bids are team contracts. Make your bid for 10 points per bid trick. Extra tricks are bags. Missing the bid loses 10 points per bid trick.
- The 2 of Hearts and 2 of Clubs are removed so Big Joker and Little Joker can be added while keeping a 52-card deck.
- Two-player mode uses a draw-two, keep-one, discard-one deal until each player has 13 cards, then plays normally head-to-head.
